Part of a team contracted to redesign and modernize Century 21's web sites and create several new business web requirements.   Includes converting Oracle stored procedures to MS/SQL stored procedures, optimizing the data base, converting JSP and proprietary components to ASP, VBScript, and ADO.
Created several multi-threaded ActiveX components using Visual C++ and incorporating COM and ATL.  These components performed such tasks as interfacing the web sites with Mapquest to display property and office map locations; performing property radius searches using latitude/longitude coordinates. C++ programs created to retrieve latitude/longitude coordinates from Mapquest for the property radius searches; generate email aliases from the Oracle database and FTP to Unix system for Sendmail.

Web design. Developed web server software using Delphi 4.0, ASP, Java (Borland J Builder 2.0) and HTML for Internet/Intranet applications on 2 IIS servers that I setup and maintained. Web applications mirrored desktop application query functionality, including retrieving data from an Oracle database and dynamically creating web pages based on selection criteria.

Designed and created applications to integrate COBOL applications with Windows graphical interface. Used AcuCOBOL GT 3.2 product along with Borland C++ Builder 3.0 and Microsoft Visual Studio 97 (C++), replaced over 100 text based input screens with graphical forms and compiled them as a single DLL. The COBOL applications still performed much of the calculations and file processing, calling the DLL for screen input. Also, created a file server using Visual C++ to allow the GUI programs to access the AcuCOBOL files.
Compiled several utilities into a DLL to give the COBOL programs Windows printing capability (e.g. using the Windows print drivers), and memory management.

Created Estimating module using Delphi 4.0 to interface to MS SQL and Access data in applications from Scala Systems.
Continued support of network consisting of 40+ users in 3 states.
Setup company on the Internet. Installed TCP/IP, setup Domain Name, Class C IP Addresses, Domain name service, and World Wide Web server. Also created initial Web site.
Wrote a complete suite of accounting and business applications used by the company from 1984 thru 1998. These included AR, AP, GL, Order Processing, Purchase Order, and Plastics Materials Inventory. This unique inventory system allowed full sized material such as sheets and rods to be cut and partial pieces to be put back into inventory using the materials' dimensions as the tracking mechanism. Merged the customer information with Informix tables in On-Contact contact management software to form a common company data base.

Principle designer and developer for conversion of DOS Billing modules to the Windows environment, using a combination of Microsoft C, and Visual Basic. Created 'C' routines to provide an interface between the btrieve file server, the Visual Basic user interface, and the Microfocus COBOL DLL. Also created Visual Basic custom controls.
Developed several system wide utilities including a printer interface that allows selection of printing a report, viewing the report after processing, or archiving the report to a file; a btrieve interface utility that manages several files like a data base by using common access parameters; also wrote a common error handling routine.

Created a desktop management program called SwitchSuitetm using Delphi and Visual C++. Includes internet capability (email client, web browser, whois client, FTP client), calendar, event scheduler, to do list, and contact manager.
Developed Service Scheduling software for pest control companies. Maintains schedules of services for technicians based on location, availability, and length of each service. Produces job tickets for billing with auto-update to Accounts Receivable and General Ledger. Maintains history of all services and disposition with retrieval by technician, salesperson, and customer. Generates sales, commission, history, and period comparison reports. Written for Unix and Windows.
Provide Internet and Intranet support and administration for several companies using Unix and Windows NT as servers.
